It was launched in September 2021 at the HKU, together with Meta (then known as Facebook), which became TGI\u2019s founding partner.<\/p>\t\t\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<\/div>\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-e08b883 elementor-widget__width-initial elementor-widget elementor-widget-text-editor\" data-id=\"e08b883\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"text-editor.default\">\n\t\t\t\t<div class=\"elementor-widget-container\">\n\t\t\t\t\t\t\t<p>TGI comes as a result of the Memorandum of Understanding signed between HKU and Meta as both the two parties wish to create a new kind of practitioner-scholar collaboration to strengthen institutional innovations with the use of emerging technologies like Artificial Intelligence (AI) and Big Data in governance and public policy in a manner that is socially embedded, conducive to sustainability, and compatible with inclusive growth. Later the course has also expanded to include guest lecturers from other leading industry players like Google and Microsoft. Currently, the course is open to students of HKU\u2019s Master of Public Administration (MPA), Master of International and Public Affairs (MIPA) and Master of Social Sciences in the field of Governance (MSLG) programs.
