Reimaging Public Spaces in Hong Kong
Open spaces are the quintessential public spaces of our city. In the latest territory development strategy, “Hong Kong 2030+: Towards a Planning Vision and Strategy Transcending 2030” (“Hong Kong 2030+”), public spaces and open spaces are considered key components of a liveable compact high-density city. In particular, there is scope to adopt an open mindset in reimagining all aspects of open spaces to one that befits our city and its people. Through the well-designed engagement process, the main objective of the Assignment is to comprehensively reimagine the concept of open space in Hong Kong to befit the current and emerging needs and aspirations of the public in light of foreseeable trends and conditions, and with the aim to holistically uplift the open space experience in Hong Kong in all its facets.
